“Sacred Cliffside handfasting at sunset — bound by intention, nature, and the promise of forever.”
Sanskrit sloka (“What is your heart is now my heart”)
Handfasting Wedding
Brandin and Sukriti’s wedding day was a soulful blend of spiritual tradition, playful love, and jaw‑dropping natural beauty. Set high above a lake on a birch‑lined cliffside, their fall wedding unfolded like a love story written by the land itself — intentional, warm, and deeply connected.
This intimate Saskatchewan wedding (with guests traveling from near and far) was rooted in meaning, laughter, and a strong sense of togetherness — the kind of day that reminds you what weddings are truly about.
Village Vows, the place to say I do in Seba Beach, overlooking the lake, with a whole school to your guests.
Exchange vows at the breathtaking Wabamun Lake Viewpoint. Lake Wabamun shimmers in the background, and there’s plenty of space for a marquee beneath the stars. Perfect for anything from a small, intimate affair to a large, invite-the-congregation wedding. The on-site charming Dome is included as your Bridal Suite., along with a newly added Sauna.
A Forest Lodge Morning & First Look Full of Laughter
The day began at a secluded forest lodge nestled among the trees — a cozy retreat that sleeps up to ten guests and features a private sauna, firepit, and endless land to explore. It was the perfect home base for a slow, grounded wedding morning.
Brandin and Sukriti chose to share a first look outside the lodge, surrounded by quiet forest air and soft fall light. In true Sukriti fashion, she surprised Brandin by pulling out a tiny toy cap pistol — instantly dissolving nerves into laughter. That single moment perfectly captured their relationship: silly, relaxed, and effortlessly joyful.
We spent time soaking in those just‑married‑to‑be moments, followed by portraits with their bridal party at the lodge before heading toward the ceremony space.

A Sacred Handfasting Ceremony on a Birch‑Lined Cliffside
Just five minutes down the road, their ceremony location opened up to a sweeping cliffside overlooking an expansive lake — the kind of view that makes you pause mid‑sentence.
Brandin and Sukriti chose a handfasting ceremony, a sacred spiritual ritual symbolizing unity, commitment, and the binding of two lives into one. Their hands were gently wrapped with a beautiful white knot as warm fall tones — oranges, golds, and soft neutrals — framed the moment. Birch trees stood tall around them, the lake stretching endlessly below, and the sun slowly sinking toward the horizon.
Despite the wind rolling across the cliffside, the ceremony felt calm, grounded, and deeply intentional — a quiet promise held between them and the land.
On the ceremony property itself sits a private Airbnb glamping dome and sauna, where we had previously photographed their engagement session. Though the wedding timeline didn’t allow us to return there for portraits that day, its presence felt woven into their story — a meaningful place already tied to their journey.
A Gymnasium Reception Turned Warm, Joyful Celebration
After the ceremony, the celebration continued just across the street at the local school — transformed entirely for the reception. With access to the full gymnasium, the space was lit up with warm string lights and filled with energy, laughter, and love.
Guests were treated to heartfelt speeches and a beautiful slideshow featuring video messages from Sukriti’s family abroad — a touching reminder that love knows no distance.
Brandin and Sukriti’s first dance was everything it should be: imperfect, genuine, and full of laughter. They helped each other through the steps, never taking it too seriously — a reflection of their easygoing, go‑with‑the‑flow nature.
As the night rolled on, the dance floor came alive with the shoe game, line dancing, the Macarena, and a room full of people celebrating without inhibition.
A Full‑Circle Love Story
This wedding holds a special place in my heart. Sukriti and I first met during her boudoir session — a space built on trust, confidence, and connection. From there, I photographed their engagement session, their wedding day, and now, as they prepare to welcome a baby, we’ll soon be creating maternity images together.
Watching love evolve through seasons like this is one of the greatest honors of my work.
Brandin and Sukriti’s wedding day was photographed and filmed solo using a multi‑camera setup:
- Nikon Z6 and Nikon D7300
- Lenses: 24–70mm and 35mm prime
- Samsung Ultra 24 mounted on an AI‑tracking gimbal tripod for smooth follow footage during the ceremony aisle walk
- DJI Wireless Microphone system for clear ceremony audio on a windy cliffside
- DJI Neo drone for cinematic aerial shots showcasing the landscape
This setup allowed me to capture both stills and film seamlessly while preserving every meaningful moment.
Double exposure of a wedding couple at sunset, with a slow dance hug, hands behind his head overlay. Brown feild of hay, at the cliffside seba beach lookout spot. This was taken after the ceremony during some breif bridal portraits.
Reverend Crystal, the officiant for sacred ceremonies.
Throughout the ceremony, Reverend Crystal spoke about love not as perfection, but as partnership — a theme that echoed so clearly in Brandon and Sukriti’s relationship. Their vows were filled with humor, honesty, and everyday devotion: packing snacks for hikes, warming cold feet, learning to live with hunting trophies beside crystal collections, and choosing each other again and again in both chaos and calm.
